CERTIFICATE AND MEDAL PRESENTATION CEREMONY
UTeM Commercialization Centre (UCC) has organized a summary session for the presentation of certificates and medals for the ITEX 2020 Online and MTE 2020 Special Edition Covid-19 exhibitions at the Main Banquet Room, Level 5, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka Chancellery Building on 23rd December (Wednesday)
The ceremony was presented by the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka Prof. Datuk Wira Raha Abdul Rahim. Also present was the happy Prof. Dr. Ghazali bin Omar Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Associate Professor Dr. Muhammad Herman bin Jamaluddin, Director of the Commercialization Center, as well as the researchers involved. The objective of this ceremony is to celebrate and appreciate the researchers who won in the competition. Through this ceremony can also inspire researchers to improve product quality and to be commercialized in the future.
UTEM INNOVATION TRACK 2020
UTeM Commercialization Centre (UCC) has organized the UTeM 2020 Innovation Trail which is located at the Laman Hikmah Library of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) on Wednesday, 2nd December 2020.
The seminar aims to screen quality innovations to be sent on behalf of UTeM to domestic and foreign competition exhibitions throughout 2020. The objective of this seminar is to expose UTeM researchers to the current situation and priority areas of research products and innovations. Participants can also increase the number of innovation entries that achieve 100% wins. Through this seminar as well, can increase gold medals and special awards to meet the needs of MyRA.

KNOWLEDGE STRENGTHENING SEMINAR SERIES 4/2020
UTeM Commercialization Centre (UCC) in collaboration with the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering (FKEKK) has organized a Knowledge Enhancement Session (SPI), series 4 at the FKEKK Seminar Hall, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) on Wednesday 14 October 2020, which entitled “The Importance of Intellectual Property: What We Need To Know”.
The purpose of organizing this seminar is to provide knowledge and information to all UTeM researchers, especially to CETRI researchers. The main objective of this seminar is to give more understanding to researchers related to the importance of intellectual property to an innovation. Participants were also exposed to the application process related to Patent, Copyright, Trademark and Industrial Design. Through this seminar, participants can also ask any kind of questions about the importance of intellectual property.
In this regard, the UCC also hopes that each researcher can submit an application form for any innovation produced through UCC.
SEMINAR "INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AWARENESS" CoE-CeRIA
On 7th October 2020, UTeM Commercialization Centre(UCC), Center for Robotics and Industrial Automation (CeRIA) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE), organized a seminar entitled “CoE-CeRIA Intellectual Property Awareness” at the CLEAR Room, Faculty of Electrical Engineering , Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).
The purpose of this seminar is to provide information to CeRIA members on the importance of intellectual property and the application process related to Patent, Copyright, Trademark and Industrial Design. Not only that, this seminar can also help further enhance the achievements of the innovation division of MyRA in particular.
With this seminar, CeRIA members can further enhance their knowledge on the importance of intellectual property to a product that has been created. Apart from that, participants were also exposed to the application process related to Patent, Copyright, Trademark and Industrial Design in a more orderly manner.
"ROUTE TO SPIN-OFF" WORKSHOP
On 23 September 2020, the Commercialization Center (UCC) has organized a "Route To Spin-Off" Workshop at the Hotel Mudzaffar Ayer Keroh Melaka.
The purpose of this workshop is to provide exposure to academic staff who are interested in setting up a company and further commercializing their research and innovation results. Not only that, this program is also one of UCC's initiatives to take steps in facilitating participants in the effort to commercialize the technology created.
With this workshop, UTeM participants can improve their knowledge on the components of the company establishment framework including commercialization models and commercialization routes, business types, market research and technology evaluation. Participants are also exposed to the importance of developing a good business plan. Through this workshop as well, participants have prepared and presented a Business Model Canvas for their products and technologies.
On that occasion, the UCC hopes that the intention to establish this spin-off company can be realized in helping to boost UTeM's commercialization activities so that the product can have an impact on the community and industry.
MTE 2020 (MALAYSIA TECHNOLOGY EXPO)

It is informed that MTE2020 which took place on 20th till 22nd February 2020 has already closed its curtain yesterday. UTeM submitted a total of 15 entries earning 100% medal wins.
The achievements of the medals are as follows:
- 1 Special Award (Euro Business Haller Poland)
- 5 Gold Medal
- 7 Silver Medal
- 3 Bronze Medal
UCC would like to congratulate all researchers and UTeM Management for their commitment and cooperation towards achieving this success.
